Based on a brief given to us for our class on 'Beyond a Box: Intro to Packaging Design', we had to design packaging and branding for a luxury tea brand, keeping in mind the principles of sustainability.
Blue Hills Tea Co. is a luxury tea brand that prides itself on its unconventional yet delightful flavours, and provides taste and quality with convenience.
To showcase this, I wanted to bring a fun and playful twist to the 'traditional' luxury aesthetic.
I chose a flavour of green tea called Wildflower Honey Citrus, and to showcase the charming yet classic feel of the flavour, I chose yellow as my primary colour.
The illustrations give the packaging the personality of the flavour itself, using elements from the ingredients, along with patterns.

For the packaging, I wanted to make it an interactive and memorable experience for the customer, while also being sustainable.
As tea often goes hand-in-hand with the image of blooming, I made the box open like a flower, with the inside space used to introduce the brand and the tea, as well as elaborate instructions on how to prepare the tea. This allowed me to include ample space on the external sides of the packaging to display the illustration.
The container used to store the tea is a glass jar, with the flavour-themed illustration on the glass, protected by the packaging itself with the same illustration repeated inside. This ensures that the flavour can be identified easily, as well as ensuring that the customer will remember the brand when they reuse the jar. The name of the brand is included in the illustration to aid in this process.
